"BOUNTY BOB"
(US Gold)

Description:
An intriguing platform
game called Bounty Bob appeared in 1984. Having all
the requirements and many more of a good solid and
colourful platformer, Bounty Bob sported Teleporters,
Slides, Suction Tubes and Lifts. Most of the levels
have a methodical and well laid out design and contains
some of the qualities of a great addictive game.
Nice little touches include the
high score entry, where you manipulate two lifts which
push out the letters, allowing you to spell your name
with a limit of seven letters though.
Other nice touches include the entry
of level codes, which let you start at a previously
completed set of rooms.
Object:
Guide Bob throughout each level
whilst avoiding or killing the many nasties. To clear
each level, Bob must walk over each of the platforms
to remove the grid underneath. Note that you cannot
spend too much time planning your route, as each level
has a timer which, when it runs down to zero, you
lose a life. Once all the platforms are clear, then
the level is completed and your remaining time on
the clock is added to your score.

Criticism:
Once
the levels are thought through, its not too difficult
with a bit of practice to complete the game. The level
code also make the game much easier than it should
of been, therefore the game has a shorter than normal
shelf life in your speccy collection.
The graphics are large but nicely
crafted and the colour is well used, however there's
probably too much purple for my liking ;)
Nonetheless, Bounty Bob is great
platform game with a refreshing take on the genre
- nice job Tim.
