"BOOTY"
(Firebird)

Description:
AHOY landlubbers! I
see ye be eye'in me Booty and me barnacle-encrusted
doubloons...arrrrrrr. Etc.
Ahem, so this is Booty; a budget
seller from BT under the brand Firebird and no worse
for it. Dispelling any myths that paying £2
- £3 for a budget release will amount to much
woe and a waste of a few quid (or a lot of quids for
nipper in 1985!)
At first glance with its big graphics
and somewhat average and repetitive backdrops Booty
does little to change your mind. However after a few
games, its possible that you may come to the conclusion
that is game is extremely well thought out and superbly
executed. Where that characters may be large, they
are well drawn and the very smooth animation is neat
and consistent. You'll also realise that the connection
doors and rooms are laid out methodically and placed
at their respective levels in the bowels of your galleon.
Some rooms require more thought than others to work
out how to retrieve the key that allows you to collect
booty or gives access to other keys or rooms.

Overall

Throughout your ship you will
also have to contend with other pirates wielding huge
(and rather pointy) cutlasses who won't think twice
about doing you a mischief with them.
Object:
ADVENTURE through the levels of
the ship and collect the booty. Not just a good platformer,
but a real thinker too.

Criticism:
MOST
of the ship uses the same format such as doors, barrels
and boxes, however the game is still highly enjoyable
and has some nice surprises such as the multiple lifts
and booby trapped devices.
Four star minimum for this budget
jolly roger!
