"Armageddon"
(Ocean)

Description:
It is not difficult
to recognise that Armageddon is a clone of the arcade
classic: 'Missile Defence' The gameplay is basic and
the graphics sparse, yet Armageddon is quick, responsive
and the difficulty is well regulated through each
of the levels.
You start with six cities at the
bottom of the play area which must be defended by
destroying the missiles that are headed directly towards
them. At the beginning, this poses few problems, however
you soon find that you could be facing twenty missles
simultaneously (see screen #2), most of which are
headed directly towards your remaining cities.
You also face the danger of running
out of your own anti-missiles- which are placed in
a row beneath your cities. If this occurrs, your cities
are defencless to any remaining missiles that are
heading towards them.
If however, you manage to destroy
all of the oncoming missiles for each stage, you will
receive a bonus for each unspent missile that you
still posses.

Criticism:
The
gameplay is quick and responsive, but there is little
in graphic detail. The highly noticable colour clash
problems result in jerky, unclean animation- after
the first level where all is black and the clash is
absent.
The addictive quality is evident
as soon as you play this game, and the lack of graphics
does little to deter even the most ardent of sprite-lovers!
